What miracle did Allah hide in the pause of revelation?
The Qur'an being revealed to the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) is itself an extraordinary miracle. It contains truths that no human living 1,400 years ago could have known—especially someone who never traveled beyond Arabia. Many of these realities are only being uncovered today after extensive scientific research. How could the Prophet (ﷺ) have known them?
The miracle is not only in the revelation of the Qur'an, but also in the pauses in revelation.
We all know that the Qur'an was revealed to the Prophet (ﷺ) through Wahy (divine revelation). When the revelation temporarily stopped, the Prophet (ﷺ) became deeply distressed.
If the Qur'an had not truly been revelation from Allah, but merely the Prophet's own words, then why would he stop speaking?
We know that many writers sit down to write and express their own thoughts. Yet sometimes their minds suddenly go blank. No matter how hard they try, they cannot find the right words or produce anything truly meaningful. Then, after some time, a complete thought comes to them—by Allah's permission—and they are finally able to write, because every good inspiration ultimately comes from Allah.
In a similar way, Surah Ad-Duḥā was revealed to the Prophet (ﷺ). In it, Allah swears by the morning brightness and by the stillness of the night—an oath whose depth no human could have imagined on their own.
This is why the Arabs were astonished.
They wondered, "Why have we never heard Arabic like this before?"
Because it is nothing but the Speech of Allah.
The temporary pause in revelation was itself a miracle and a sign that these words were descending from Allah alone.
And to this day, the miracles of this Divine Speech continue to prove themselves true.
