Allah has 99 names, and every name contains many secrets.

Today, we discover Al-Adl

what it really is.

Al-Adl is usually translated as “justice,” but it has a much deeper meaning. It means:

To place everything exactly where it belongs.

Now let’s understand this with an examples.

Example no.1

You have seen the colors of a rainbow . If the red color moved from the top to the bottom,

 what would happen?

You might say nothing special would happen — just a new style of rainbow would form.

But that is not true.

If red comes down near green, then by mixing with green, it will create a muddy olive-brown color.

Why?

Because in a rainbow, colors are formed through a proper transition, and there is no visible barrier between them. When red and yellow meet, we see a beautiful orange between them.

In this way, the whole order gets disturbed just because one color goes to the wrong place.

Example no.2

If you want to go and live in a jungle while you are used to urban life, what will you do?

You will pack your bags and go there, right?

What will happen there?

Suddenly, you will face change and shock. You may adjust for a few days, but to restore your supplies, you will have to come back.

Why?

Because you did not understand the circumstances. A human spends more in difficult situations and quickly becomes weak or sick.

But what Allah does is different.

He puts you in situations while you are still in your own place — like you are in your city, but you lose your job. You struggle to survive, trying everything, but nothing works.

Then slowly, you start from zero and build yourself again.

Then you become a different person from inside.

Why?

Because you have already experienced hardship. Then if you go to the jungle, you will survive longer.

 This is the wisdom of Al-‘Adl.

If you want to become green, you cannot skip the two colors in between.

Allah will change you step by step — first orange, then yellow, then green.

 This is how the system of Al-‘Adl works.

There are no shortcuts.

If you ask why?

 

Then look at the order in Asma ul Husna from 28 to 30:

Al-Hakam (The Judge)

Al-Adl (The Just)

Al-Latif (The Subtle One)

If we focus on this pattern, we understand:

He is the Judge who makes the decision — all evidence is already present.

Then how does He decide?

He is Al-Adl, so He places everything exactly where it belongs.

And how does He do this?

Because He is Al-Latif — He sees even the smallest details before making a decision.

This gives us happiness that no good deed will be wasted, but also fear that no hidden sin should put us into difficulty.

Now let’s look at practical examples of how Al-Adl shows itself in this world.

Example no.1

The Wallace Line 

The Wallace Line is an invisible boundary in Indonesia that separates two completely different types of wildlife.

On one side, there are animals like monkeys, tigers, and elephants.

On the other side, there are kangaroos, wallabies, and cockatoos.

This happens because of a deep underwater trench that animals cannot cross. Even during ice ages, this barrier remained.

Because of this, species evolved separately.

Why?

 Al-Adl showing its introduction.

The Halocline

When two oceans meet, their waters do not mix immediately.

Because their salt levels, temperatures, and densities are different, a boundary is formed.

This boundary prevents instant mixing, and you can see a visible line where two waters meet before they slowly blend.

Now the real meaning:

If the red color in the rainbow tries to go near green, it shows an invisible barrier — just like the Wallace Line. No one can pass that boundary 

— and that is why everything stays happy in its own place.

And in the second example, a person moving from city life to jungle life matches the halocline — because there is a chance to evolve.

This is the wisdom of Al-Adl.

What is Divine Love?

When we talk about divine love, everyone describes it from a different perspective.
Some call it a fire, others call it an ocean. Some say it is the path of sacrifice.
Whatever the answer may be, one thing seems constant: pain and even death are always part of it.

So what is it about divine love that, despite so much difficulty and suffering, people are still drawn toward it?

Let’s understand this through a famous spiritual concept—and then look at it scientifically as well.

The Concept: The Moth and the Light

A moth follows the light and keeps returning to it again and again—until it dies.

The Poetic & Literary Aspect

In Urdu and Persian literature, the moth (Parwana) and the candle (Shama) are powerful symbols of selfless love and sacrifice.

• Symbol of the Lover:
  The moth represents a true lover who is willing to burn itself to ashes for the sake of the beloved (the light).

Many poets have expressed this idea in their own way:

• Allama Iqbal: Saw the moth as a passionate seeker whose ultimate desire is to burn in the light.
• Mirza Ghalib: Believed the moth’s sacrifice has purpose—no one dies without a deeper spiritual meaning.
• Bahadur Shah Zafar: Portrayed the moth as a faithful lover who will find the beloved wherever it exists.
• Mir Taqi Mir: Focused on the silent suffering and dignity in the moth’s final annihilation.
• Jigar Moradabadi: Viewed the moth as a devotee whose entire life is justified by a single moment of sacrifice.
• Amir Meenai: Highlighted the tragedy of the moth’s unwavering desire versus the candle’s indifference.
• Mirza Sauda: Considered the moth’s ashes sacred—symbolizing a heart purified by fire.

Even Western writers reflected on this idea:

• Virginia Woolf: Saw the moth as a “bead of pure life,” showing the fragile yet intense energy of existence.
• Robert Frost: Used a dead moth to question whether darkness has its own hidden design.
• Percy Bysshe Shelley: Spoke of “the desire of the moth for the star,” symbolizing longing for the divine.
• Don Marquis: Suggested that the moth chooses to “burn with beauty” rather than live a dull life.
• Emily Dickinson: Found deep meaning in the moth’s delicate and fleeting existence.
• Tennessee Williams: Used the moth as a symbol of sensitivity unable to bear the harsh light of reality.

The Scientific Reason

• Transverse Orientation:
  Moths use distant light sources like the moon as a compass, maintaining a fixed angle to fly straight.

• Optical Confusion:
  When the light source is nearby (like a bulb), the angle constantly changes, causing the moth to spiral inward.

• The Trap:
  Because artificial light is too close, the moth’s navigation system fails—leading it to circle endlessly or crash into the light.

So scientifically, the moth is not in love—it is simply trapped in a survival mechanism it cannot understand.

Then Why Do Humans Do It?

Why do humans willingly choose a path of truth that is full of difficulty?

What’s the “pull”?

When a person truly realizes what darkness is—and how it slowly consumes the inner light—it creates a powerful storm within.

A storm so intense that a person no longer behaves like an ordinary human.
He becomes like the moth.

He accepts the struggle.

He moves toward the light again and again.

Eventually, the “grey areas” of life become unbearable to him.
Those shadows remind him of the darkness he once carried within himself.

So he keeps returning—again and again—not to die, but to purify himself.

The Reality of Divine Love

This continuous struggle is the true essence of divine love.

It does not demand perfection.
It demands consistency.

This constant movement creates an inner heat—
and that heat becomes the source of light within.

Because the one who has once tasted the joy of closeness to the Beloved—how can they ever go far away again, even if it means they must burn for it?

The moth dies in the light…

 

      Being Muslim, we all have read the Qur’an. We notice that every Surah and its verses carry a beautiful rhythm and powerful expression—almost like perfect poetry that conveys deep meaning.

We have heard that when Prophet Muhammad ﷺ appeared as a Prophet in Arabia, poetry was highly valued. Arabs took great pride in their language and poetic skills.

Then Allah revealed the Qur’an through the Prophet ﷺ—words that Arabs had never heard before. They understood the language, yet they had never seen such a perfect composition.

That is why some of them said (نعوذ بالله):

“He is a magician”

“He is a (poet)”

“He is Enchanted”

Because Prophet Muhammad did not receive any formal education, people were amazed that a person who could not read or write was speaking such profound words. This became a clear proof that he is the Prophet of Allah.

Some people tried to investigate where this poetry came from. Others claimed:

 “We can produce something like this.”

Then the Qur’an gave an open challenge 

Surah Al-Baqarah (2:23)

وَإِن كُنتُمْ فِي رَيْبٍ مِّمَّا نَزَّلْنَا عَلَىٰ عَبْدِنَا فَأْتُوا بِسُورَةٍ مِّن مِّثْلِهِ وَادْعُوا شُهَدَاءَكُم مِّن دُونِ اللَّهِ إِن كُنتُمْ صَادِقِينَ

“And if you are in doubt about what We have sent down upon Our servant, then produce a surah like it and call your witnesses besides Allah, if you are truthful.”

This was not just about writing—it was about matching its truth, depth, and impact.

For understanding this challenge first we need to decode:

 What is Poetry?

Writers and experts often define poetry as:

 An expression where words are arranged beautifully in a small form to convey deep meaning and

secret code words

When someone reads poetry:

They relate to it

They feel understood

They find answers within it

They feel peace

That is why people share poetry—it reflects their inner feelings.

 Now Coming to the Qur’an

The Qur’an is the Book of Allah, and there is no doubt in it.

What does the Qur’an do?

 It talks to you

You read it and feel: “This is about me”

It is a complete book, and within it there is something for every human being.

Allah made it a book of guidance until the Day of Judgment.

 I repeat: Guidance (نصیحت)

Why Guidance Sometimes Feels Hard

Advice (نصیحت) can feel uncomfortable.

Why?

Because when a person sees a reflection of themselves they don’t want to face, they escape toward comfort instead of truth.

Allah's take about on Poets

Surah Ash-Shu'ara (26:224–226)

Arabic:

وَالشُّعَرَاءُ يَتَّبِعُهُمُ الْغَاوُونَ

أَلَمْ تَرَ أَنَّهُمْ فِي كُلِّ وَادٍ يَهِيمُونَ

وَأَنَّهُمْ يَقُولُونَ مَا لَا يَفْعَلُونَ

“And the poets are followed by those who go astray.

Do you not see that they wander in every valley?

And that they say what they do not do?”

 Why Allah criticized poets?

They speak on every topic

They exaggerate

They often lack truth

They create things that don’t exist

But There is an Exception

Surah Ash-Shu‘arā’ (26:227)

إِلَّا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ وَذَكَرُوا اللَّهَ كَثِيرًا وَانتَصَرُوا مِن بَعْدِ مَا ظُلِمُوا ۗ وَسَيَعْلَمُ الَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا أَيَّ مُنقَلَبٍ يَنقَلِبُونَ

“Except those who believe, do righteous deeds, remember Allah كثيرا (abundantly), and defend themselves after they have been wronged (ظلم). And those who ظلم will soon know to what return they will return.”

 So not all poets are wrong—only those who mislead.

 Why Do People Get Misguided?

 

Intention (Niyyah)

Your intention decides:

Whether you seek truth

Or arguments

Or comfort

Or personal benefit

If someone reads the Qur’an:

To attack specific person and find a lead to protect their argument→ they may misinterpret

To seek guidance → they will be guided

Understanding the Qur’an

Many people say:

“First learn Arabic, then read the Qur’an.”

Yes, Arabic is the original and most powerful form.

But:

The Qur’an is guidance for all humanity

Translation in your language is enough for guidance

If your intention is sincere, Allah will guide you

Even hearing it in your own language can change you.

Scientific Signs

   1. Expanding Universe: "And the heaven We constructed with strength, and indeed, We are [its] expander" (Surah Adh-Dhariyat 51:47).

   2. The Big Bang: "Have those who disbelieved not considered that the heavens and the earth were a joined entity, and We separated them?" (Surah Al-Anbiya 21:30).

   3. Origin of Life: "We made from water every living thing. Then will they not believe?" (Surah Al-Anbiya 21:30).

   4. Iron's Origin: "And We sent down iron, in which is great military might and benefits for the people" (Surah Al-Hadid 57:25).

   5. Mountains as Stakes: "Have We not made the earth a resting place? And the mountains as stakes?" (Surah An-Naba 78:6-7).

 These are not just words—they are truths that were confirmed later.

Deep Insight

The challenge of the Qur’an was not just to:

Write something similar

But to:

Match its truth

Prove it

Sustain its meaning

 That is why no one could meet the challenge.

Final Reflection

No human can ever gain complete knowledge.

Allah gives each person only what they are meant to receive.

 So:

Keep your intention pure

Read or listen to the Qur’an

Because it truly speaks to you

In Sufi poetry, we often hear that the color of divine love is white.

But what is white? Only the one who has truly experienced love can fully understand it.

Still, we try to understand this through the Qur'an and science.

 What Does the Qur’an Say About 

“Allah’s Color”?

Allah says:

— Surah Al-Baqarah 2:138

صِبْغَةَ اللَّهِ وَمَنْ أَحْسَنُ مِنَ اللَّهِ صِبْغَةً

“(We are) the color of Allah, and who is better than Allah in coloring?”

This raises a deep question:

 What is the color of Allah?

  Allah Introduces Himself as Light

Allah says:

— Surah An-Nur 24:35

اللَّهُ نُورُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ

“Allah is the Light of the heavens and the earth”

So now the question becomes:

What is light?

 Understanding Light (Science Perspective)

At night, stars appear in different colors (white, yellow, bluish, reddish)

In the day, the sun shines strongly

Because of this light, we can see all colors

Light reveals colors—it contains them

 Rain, Purity & the Rainbow

After rain, we see a rainbow (7 colors).

Science says:

Air becomes clean

Water droplets remain in air

Light splits into colors

Reflection:

Rain removes dust

Air becomes pure

Light shows its true nature

 This shows a process of purification

Human Creation from Clay 

The Qur’an tells us humans are created from (clay).

Mix 7 colors in form of bigment → brown / dark brown = Clay color 

Why do seven colors combine into a muddy color? The explanation will come later in this reflection.

But Yes, white paint exists.
Its source is also nature, like titanium dioxide (TiO₂) which is used most commonly today.
If it is not directly available, it is taken from things like sand or rocks and then processed in factories. After that it is turned into paint.
So basically, its origin is still nature, but we convert it into usable form through processing. 

Now let’s come to how white light is formed:

Basic idea:

Isaac Newton used a prism to split sunlight into a spectrum of colors. Then he performed a reverse experiment by passing those separated colors through another prism (or a lens system) in the opposite direction, which combined them back into a single beam of white light. This showed that white light can be reconstructed from all the colors of the spectrum.

Modern engineering has made this concept even more advanced.

 Black as Absorption 

Black Absorbs all colors

Hides their existence

That’s why you never see light as black.
Black means the absence of light, and if there is any color, black will make it dim.

For Example 

A Cloth is yellow

Black color falls on it → it becomes black

Yellow disappears

 Can yellow come back by adding more yellow?

❌ No

What is required?

Remove black through bleaching

Then apply yellow again

⚠️ Risk:

Too much bleach can damage fabric

Requires careful treatment 

Because Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said.

Arabic:
عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رضي الله عنه قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ:
«إِنَّ الْعَبْدَ إِذَا أَخْطَأَ خَطِيئَةً نُكِتَتْ فِي قَلْبِهِ نُكْتَةٌ سَوْدَاءُ، فَإِذَا نَزَعَ وَاسْتَغْفَرَ وَتَابَ صُقِلَ قَلْبُهُ، وَإِنْ عَادَ زِيدَ فِيهَا حَتَّى تَعْلُوَ قَلْبَهُ…»

“When a servant commits a sin, a black spot appears on his heart. If he stops, seeks forgiveness, and repents, his heart is cleansed. But if he returns (to sin), it increases until it covers his heart…”

Reference:

Sin = black dot

Repeated sin = spreading darkness

Eventually it can cover the heart completely

But through Taqwa, the original purity can be restored. 

but this purification is a careful process, otherwise you’ll end up tearing the fabric

 Role of White (Purity & Protection)

White:

Reflects light

Does not hide colors

Allows all colors to exist

 Spiritually:

White protects purity

Keeps your original nature safe

Does not suppress uniqueness

Like a rainbow:

Colors appear when environment is pure 

When Allah’s mercy (rain) is present

 Human Reality (Body & Noor)

Human body = clay (earthly form)

Inner reality = light (divine essence)

The body is like a garment

To protect light inside you and hides it 

Why?

A human is a physical being, so each person carries a different light within. Allah never wants it to turn black—it is about acceptance, so that the light within you can meet and support others, forming a perfect rainbow. Then, together, all of us become a pure white light And that's the color of Allah.

 The Shrimp That Felt Trapped

There is a famous story about a shrimp.

Its outer shell is extremely hard, while its body inside is very soft.

When it is small, the shell protects it.

But as it grows, its body keeps expanding while the shell does not.

Slowly, it starts to feel tight… restricted… almost trapped inside its own protection.

A pressure builds within it — a desire to break free.

So it hides under rocks, hoping the shell will crack so it can finally be free.

But this freedom comes with danger:

Sometimes, it dies during the process

And even if it survives, its soft body becomes exposed to predators

This moment is often described as the “White Ring of Death.”

What This Story Really Means

This isn’t just about a shrimp.

It’s about growth and pressure:

The same thing that protects you… can start to feel like a cage

Growth is uncomfortable

Not every freedom is safe

Sometimes, what feels like a prison

is actually your protection.

 The Human Reality

A human goes through the same journey.

At first:

The world feels big, beautiful, and full of attraction

Then a time comes:

The body stops growing

But the mind keeps expanding

As a person begins to understand the reality of life and the universe,

they feel an inner pressure.

A strange longing develops —

not for more of this world,

but to return to their Creator.

Two Different Paths

At this point, people choose:

One path:

Follow desires

Choose instant freedom

Escape restriction

The other path:

Control desires

Stay within halal limits

Accept pressure as a test

A believer may have intelligence, talent, and opportunities —

but still holds back for the sake of Allah.

That’s where the real test begins.

 The Hadith That Explains Everything

Sahih Muslim (Hadith 2956)

Arabic:

الدُّنْيَا سِجْنُ المُؤْمِنِ وَجَنَّةُ الكَافِرِ

 “The world is a prison for the believer and a paradise for the disbeliever.”

The Deeper Lesson

This “prison” is not punishment.

It is:

Protection

Discipline

A test of trust

The believer feels pressure

because they don’t take freedom into their own hands.

They wait.

They trust.

Why does a believer feel this pressure?

When a person’s intellect grows, a feeling develops within them to correct what is wrong and make it right. And when that feeling is suppressed or stopped, they become emotional.

Sometimes, a person is talented, but they do not get the opportunity to show it, or they do not achieve the success they deserve because they did not compromise on their principles. This creates a lot of pressure and deeply disturbs them. Because this is a test of faith (Iman), and Allah always grants knowledge first and then tests you.

But,

One day, everything changes.

A new “shell” is given.

A better existence.

And suddenly, the believer feels free.

Not because they escaped on their own

but because they waited for the right freedom.

They look back at their struggles…

and even smile.

Because you trusted the One who placed you in this shell.

You know you should let go…

But you don’t.

Not because you’re weak—

but because something inside you is still holding on.

A memory

 A person

 A feeling you can’t explain

And even when it hurts…

you go back to it.

So why does letting go feel impossible?

 The Psychology: Why Your Brain Refuses to Let Go

Modern psychology explains:

The brain stores emotional memories deeply

Familiar pain feels “safe” compared to unknown change

You get attached to the feeling, not just the person or event

 This creates a loop: 

Memory → Emotion → Attachment → Repeat

You’re not holding on to the past…

Your brain is replaying it.

Why Letting Go Feels So hard

1. Familiar Pain Feels Safer Than Uncertainty

Your mind chooses:

Known hurt ❌

over

Unknown future ❌

 2. Emotional Addiction

You’re not just remembering…

 You’re re-experiencing the emotion

 3. Identity Attachment

Sometimes you don’t just hold the past…

The past becomes part of who you are

What the Qur'an Says About Letting Go

 1. You May Love What Is Not Good for You

 (2:216)

Arabic:

وَعَسَىٰ أَن تَكْرَهُوا۟ شَيْـًٔا وَهُوَ خَيْرٌ لَّكُمْ وَعَسَىٰ أَن تُحِبُّوا۟ شَيْـًٔا وَهُوَ شَرٌّ لَّكُمْ ۗ وَٱللَّهُ يَعْلَمُ وَأَنتُمْ لَا تَعْلَمُونَ

“Perhaps you dislike something which is good for you, and perhaps you love something which is bad for you. Allah knows, while you do not know.”

Deep insight:

You’re holding on because you feel it’s right But reality may be the opposite

 2. Don’t Stay Stuck in Loss

 (57:23)

Arabic:

لِكَيْلَا تَأْسَوْا عَلَىٰ مَا فَاتَكُمْ 

"In order that you not despair over what has eluded you."

 Meaning:

Letting go = moving forward Not staying trapped in sadness

 3. Let Go Through Trust (Tawakkul)

 (65:3)

 Arabic:

وَمَن يَتَوَكَّلْ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ فَهُوَ حَسْبُهُ

“And whoever relies upon Allah—then He is sufficient for him.”

 Letting go is not loss. It is trusting Allah with what you cannot control.

For example

"A lone tree in the desert does not pray for the sands to become a garden; it prays for the strength to remain a tree."

4. You Cannot Control Everything

 (76:30)

 Arabic:

وَمَا تَشَآءُونَ إِلَّآ أَن يَشَآءَ ٱللَّهُ

“You do not will except that Allah wills…”

 Psychological truth:

Trying to control everything = anxiety

Letting go = peace

 5. Change Starts Within You

(13:11)

 Arabic:

إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا يُغَيِّرُ مَا بِقَوْمٍ حَتَّىٰ يُغَيِّرُوا۟ مَا بِأَنفُسِهِمْ

“Indeed, Allah does not change the condition of a people until they change what is within themselves.” 

 Letting go is:

Not instant

A process of inner change

How can we turn these verses into everyday practice?

 1. Stop Feeding the Memory Loop

Avoid triggers

Limit overthinking

 2. Accept the Feeling (Don’t Fight It)

Let emotions pass

Don’t attach meaning to every thought

 3. Replace the Attachment

New habits

New focus

New purpose

4. Practice Tawakkul Daily

Make dua

Remind yourself: Allah knows what I don’t

 The Line That Changes Everything

You are not struggling to let go…

You are struggling to accept that it’s already gone.

 Final Insight

Letting go in Islam is not forgetting…

It is trusting Allah with what your heart cannot carry anymore.

 

Islamic Spirituality

Even today, when we know sin is wrong, why do we still commit it?

To understand this, we must listen to the .

The Qur’an tells us that the main reasons are: Nafs (inner self) and Shayṭān (Satan).

Shayṭān’s Role

On the Day of Judgment, Shayṭān will say:

(Surah Ibrahim 14:22)

 وَقَالَ الشَّيْطَانُ لَمَّا قُضِيَ الْأَمْرُ إِنَّ اللَّهَ وَعَدَكُمْ وَعْدَ الْحَقِّ وَوَعَدتُّكُمْ فَأَخْلَفْتُكُمْ ۖ وَمَا كَانَ لِيَ عَلَيْكُم مِّن سُلْطَانٍ إِلَّا أَن دَعَوْتُكُمْ فَاسْتَجَبْتُمْ لِي ۖ

And Satan will say when the matter has been concluded: ‘Indeed, Allah had promised you the promise of truth. And I promised you, but I betrayed you. I had no authority over you except that I invited you, and you responded to me...

 He only whispers, he does not force.The choice is always yours.

 Human Inner Structure

To understand sin, we need to understand the human system.

Inside a person there are multiple inner layers

 (as explained in Sufi psychology):

Nafs (ego/desire),

Qalb (heart),

Ruh (love),

Sirri (inner secrets),

Khafi (deep awareness),

Akhfa (ultimate reality).

Among these, nafs is the strongest at the beginning, and it is connected to ego and desire, while the others are higher and refined.

How Sin Begins

It starts very simply:

You want something.

If you choose halal → balance remains.
If you choose haram → you start justifying it:

“I like it.”
“I want it.”

This creates ego, and slowly the person stops seeing it as wrong.

This is Nafs al-Ammārah—where desire becomes dominant and intellect becomes weak.

 Bull (ٹگا) — The Real Meaning

Punjabi Sufi writers called this state “ٹگا” (a wild bull).

A wild bull:

• runs on instinct
• doesn’t think
• cannot be controlled
• destroys whatever comes in its path

You cannot ride it, you cannot guide it.

This is how nafs al-ammārah behaves.

The person is no longer in control—
they are being driven by desire, just like a bull in chaos.

 Awakening of Qalb

Then the qalb (heart) awakens.

A voice appears: “This is wrong.”

But nafs reacts:

• First denial: “No, it’s fine”
• Then justification: “It’s my nature”

Even though deep inside, the person knows the truth.

 Nafs al-Lawwāmah (The Battle)

Now the nafs changes into Nafs al-Lawwāmah. 

Because As soon as the Qalb (heart) awakens, the Nafs (ego) begins to shift its position.

The mind becomes a battlefield:

“I want this”
“This is wrong”

This creates pressure.

Now the bull is not free anymore—
it is tied to a cart.

But it is still strong:

• it pulls away
• it resists
• it does not move straight

Control has started, but struggle remains.

 Silent Desire (Addiction)

Then comes a deeper stage.

No arguments.
No justification.

Just a silent desire.

The person knows it’s wrong, but still feels stuck.

This is where the addiction of the nafs becomes strong, and tawbah breaks—because you haven’t truly healed yet, and after a few days, the addiction returns again.

 Levels of Nafs

This is a continuous journey:

Nafs al-Ammarah – commanding soul (desires & ego)

Nafs al-Lawwama – self-reproaching soul (guilt)

Nafs al-Mulhama – inspired soul

Nafs al-Mutma’innah – peaceful soul

Nafs al-Radiyya – content soul

Nafs al-Mardiyya – pleasing soul

Nafs al-Kamila – perfected soul

 Shayṭān’s Strategy

Shayṭān uses:

• your weaknesses
• your past
• your addictions

He whispers: “Just once.”
“Nothing will happen.”

Humans don’t sin because they don’t know—

They sin because:
desire becomes stronger than what they know.

Desire is not a bad thing in itself, but it should be according to nature.

Hope

Despite everything:

Allah has kept tawbah open.

You will fail sometimes, succeed sometimes—
but the real success is:

You don’t give up

You deleted it.
You promised yourself: “Never again.”

But then…
late at night… alone…

You went back to the same sin.

Now you feel:

• Guilt
• Shame
• Weak

But here’s the truth most people never understand:

You didn’t fail because your tawbah was weak…
You failed because your system didn’t change.

The Brutal Truth (Psychology No One Tells You)

• Every sin creates a reward memory
• Even after tawbah… the brain remembers

 This is called a relapse loop

You are not addicted to the sin…

 A Quranic psychological insight 

The story of Adam (A.S) is mentioned in different parts of the Quran. When we gather these verses and read them in sequence, a powerful pattern appears:

Creation → Sajda → Iblis’ Refusal → Jannah → Waswasa → Mistake → A sudden pang of remorse → Earth → Acceptance of Tawbah

Within this journey are deep insights that can guide our lives today.

1. The Secret of Khilafah (Leadership on Earth)

Adam (A.S) was made Allah’s khalifah on Earth.

Insight:

A human being is meant to establish Allah’s will on Earth. But before that, he must establish it within his own heart.

If the inner self is not aligned, the outer world cannot be fixed.

2. The Secret of Free Will & Justice

Everyone prostrated except Shaytan.

Insight:

Allah created good and evil, but He did not force anyone into either. Every being with choice decides on their own.

This is true justice.

Even Shaytan was not forced—he chose arrogance.

And yet, Allah always keeps the door of forgiveness open.

3. The Secret of Waswasa 

(Psychology of Whispering)

Adam (A.S) was successful in his test—until Shaytan kept whispering.

Key Reality:

A continuous whisper can weaken even a strong person.

Why was it powerful?

Because Shaytan didn’t invite to sin directly.

He changed the narrative:

- “You will become angels”

- “You will live forever”

He lied about Allah while pretending to be sincere.

Insight:

False narratives are the most dangerous weapon.

4. Knowledge vs Experience

Adam (A.S) had knowledge—but no experience yet.

Insight:

A person may understand something intellectually, but without experience, they can still be influenced.

This is why life itself is a test.

5. The Immediate Effect of Sin

When they ate from the tree, their attire (covering) was removed instantly.

Insight:

Sin is not neutral.

It immediately exposes, weakens, and affects the inner state.

6. The Balance of Allah’s Promise

Allah fulfilled His promise and sent them down from Jannah.

Insight:

If Allah’s warning is true, then His mercy is also true.

The same Lord who held them accountable also forgave them.

7. The Secret of Tawbah

When Adam (A.S.) committed the sin, he felt deep remorse. Then he was taught the prayer of repentance (tawbah), and his repentance was accepted after he came to Earth.

Insight:

True repentance begins before words—with realization and regret.

When a person is sincere, Allah Himself helps them express it.

Adam (A.S) accepted his mistake.

He did not justify it.

Final Reflection

Shaytan never comes directly and says: “Do sin.”

He:

- changes perception

- creates justification

- makes a person feel helpless

And slowly, the person convinces himself.

The story of Adam (A.S) is not just history.

It is a complete map of human psychology, struggle, and return to Allah.

Whoever understands it deeply…

understands himself.

Have you ever noticed something strange?

Nature appears random at first glance—mountains are irregular, rivers don’t flow in straight lines, clouds constantly change shape. But when you reflect deeply, you realize that nothing is truly random. Everything exists in perfect balance and in its proper place.

Take a simple example:

A fish lives in water.

If it comes onto land, it will die.

This shows that every creation has a natural order and purpose.

Human Nature: The Desire to Organize and Perfect

Humans, however, behave differently.

They try to reshape the world according to their understanding of “perfection”:

They build straight roads and aligned houses

They level land

They prefer symmetry and linear order

They even try to change human appearance (e.g., skin color, surgeries)

Why?

Because the human mind finds linear and structured systems easier to understand.

The shortest path between two points is a straight line—so humans prefer straightness.

But Is Anything Truly Straight in Nature?

If you observe:

Mountains are irregular

Rivers flow in curves

Clouds are shapeless

Nothing appears perfectly straight.

Some may argue: light travels in straight lines.

This brings a deeper reflection.

Light and Divine Perfection

In the Qur’an, Allah describes Himself as Light (Noor):

— (Surah An-Nur 24:35)

 اللَّهُ نُورُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ

“Allah is the Light of the heavens and the earth.”

Light symbolizes clarity, truth, and guidance.

From this perspective:

Straightness represents truth and perfection

And ultimate perfection belongs only to Allah

The Concept of the Straight Path

The Qur’an repeatedly commands us to follow the Straight Path:

— (Surah Al-Fatiha 1:6)

 اهْدِنَا الصِّرَاطَ الْمُسْتَقِيمَ

“Guide us to the Straight Path.”

But here comes an important question:

If we are told to follow a straight path, why are we also told to adopt moderation?

Moderation in Islam (Balance)

Islam does not demand extreme rigidity.

— (Surah Al-Baqarah 2:143)

 وَكَذَٰلِكَ جَعَلْنَاكُمْ أُمَّةً وَسَطًا

“And thus We have made you a balanced nation.”

This means:

Not too extreme

Not too careless

But balanced and just

A Confusion: Straight Path vs Flexibility

At first, this seems contradictory:

Be straight (Sirat al-Mustaqeem)

But also be moderate (balance)

And the Qur’an also warns:

 Those who try to take a middle path between truth and falsehood will face consequences.

So what should a human do?

Understanding Through Chronological Order

Let’s understand step by step:

1. Humans are Khalifah (vicegerents) on Earth

— (Surah Al-Baqarah 2:30)

إِنِّي جَاعِلٌ فِي الْأَرْضِ خَلِيفَةً

 “Indeed, I will place a vicegerent upon the earth.”

2. They are given responsibility and superiority over creation

3. They must follow Allah’s commands—but within human limits

Why Flexibility Exists

Consider this example:

A person steals.

A judge investigates:

Evidence

Intent

Circumstances

Now imagine a child steals because they didn’t know it was wrong.

Should the judge punish or forgive?

If he forgives:

The act still happened

But intention matters

This shows that justice includes wisdom and mercy, not just rigid rules.

Islam’s Flexibility in Practice

Islam provides flexibility:

If you cannot stand → pray sitting

If you cannot sit → pray lying down

If you cannot do that → remember Allah in your heart

This shows:

Allah understands human limitations

His system is not rigid—it is merciful

The Wisdom in Imperfection

Even in human creation:

The rib is curved, not straight

This allows movement and flexibility

If you try to make it perfectly straight—it will break.

The Prophet ﷺ said:

“Woman was created from a rib… if you try to straighten her, you will break her.”

— (Sahih al-Bukhari 5186, Sahih Muslim 1468)

This is not criticism—it is a metaphor for human nature:

Flexibility is essential

Forcing perfection leads to destruction

Straight path = Truth (Divine guidance)

Moderation = Human application of that truth

That is why this practice was taught to human beings—so they can recognize what is straight and true within a tangled and confusing world. And this practice begins from within a person: first, they must correct themselves internally, striving to establish justice within their own soul. When they have learned all of this, they will no longer draw straight lines to divide people; instead, they will build bridges to connect them. And only the one who can protect that bridge is truly capable of building it.

Because only Allah embodies absolute perfection.

The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said:

عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ رضي الله عنه قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ:

"مَنْ رَأَى مِنْكُمْ مُنْكَرًا فَلْيُغَيِّرْهُ بِيَدِهِ، فَإِنْ لَمْ يَسْتَطِعْ فَبِلِسَانِهِ، فَإِنْ لَمْ يَسْتَطِعْ فَبِقَلْبِهِ، وَذَلِكَ أَضْعَفُ الْإِيمَانِ."

"Whoever among you sees an evil, let him change it with his hand. If he is not able to do so, then with his tongue. If he is not able to do so, then with his heart — and that is the weakest level of faith."
Sahih Muslim 49

This Hadith is not only a moral teaching — it is a complete system of faith, responsibility, and self-discipline. It guides how a believer responds to wrongdoing in society, but also reflects something even deeper: how a person deals with their own inner struggles.

 Levels of Faith

1. With the Hand (Action)
If a person has authority, strength, or ability, they should actively stop wrongdoing. This represents real responsibility and direct action against injustice or harm.

2. With the Tongue (Speech)
If physical action is not possible, then a person should speak the truth, give advice, and discourage wrongdoing in a wise and respectful way.

3. With the Heart (Inner Resistance)
If neither action nor speech is possible, a person should still reject the wrongdoing in their heart. This means maintaining dislike for evil and not accepting it internally — and this is the weakest level of faith, yet it still protects belief.

 Deeper Reflection: The Inner Application

Most people understand this Hadith in relation to others, but it also applies to the self.

What happens when the “evil” is not outside, but inside us — in our habits, desires, and repeated mistakes?

Sometimes a person becomes trapped in addiction, compulsive behavior, or strong desires where stopping feels extremely difficult. At that stage, the struggle is not just moral — it becomes psychological and emotional as well.

 The Reality of Inner Struggle

The mind can convince a person that:

“If I stop, I will suffer too much.”

This is where habit becomes dependency. It is not just weakness — it is a deep struggle between the nafs (inner self) and self-control.

Modern psychology also recognizes this reality, where behavior patterns and addictions require time, effort, and structured recovery, not instant change.

 Islamic Path of Self-Improvement

Islam does not demand instant perfection. Instead, it teaches gradual transformation: 

Awareness — A person first recognizes the wrong and accepts the need to change.
Delay — When the urge appears, pause and do not act immediately.
Replacement — Replace harmful actions with better habits like prayer, reflection, or positive activity.
Return to Allah — Turn to Allah in dua and seek strength through worship and repentance.

Final insight 

This Hadith is not only about stopping evil in society — it is also about winning the battle within yourself.

Life is not about never falling…
It is about learning to rise again and again.

 True faith is shown in continuous struggle, self-correction, and returning to Allah no matter how many times one slips.

“I tried… but nothing worked.”

This is where disappointment begins.
Not when you fail—but when your effort feels meaningless.

Disappointment doesn’t just hurt.
It quietly breaks something inside you—your confidence, your motivation, and sometimes even your connection with Allah.

But here’s the truth most people miss:

Disappointment is not the end of your story. It is part of your test.

First Question: What Are You Really Disappointed About?

Before healing disappointment, understand it.

Are you disappointed because:

• You worked hard but didn’t succeed?
• You tried to change but couldn’t?
• You repented but fell back into the same sin?

If yes… then realize something powerful:

Only the one who tries can feel disappointment.

The one who never stepped forward… has no story to tell.

So even in your disappointment—
there is proof that you tried.

Allah created every human differently.

• Different strengths

You’ve seen it yourself:

• Someone is intelligent but poor
• Someone is rich but unhealthy
• Someone has everything—but still feels empty

Nothing is random.

 Allah says:

Arabic:

أَفَحَسِبْتُمْ أَنَّمَا خَلَقْنَاكُمْ عَبَثًا

“Did you think that We created you without purpose?”

 Your struggle is not meaningless.
 Your delay is not pointless.

The full picture isn’t clear to you yet.

The Most Painful Kind of Disappointment

There’s one type of disappointment that hurts deeper than failure:

Spiritual disappointment.

You sin → you repent → you fall again → you repent again…

And then one day you think:

“Maybe I can’t change.”

So you stop trying.

This is not weakness.

This is exactly where Shaytan wants you.

 The Biggest Lie You Can Believe

That your sins are too big.
That your efforts don’t matter.
That Allah won’t forgive you anymore.

But listen to what Allah says:

— (39:53)

Arabic:

لَا تَقْنَطُوا مِن رَّحْمَةِ اللَّهِ

“Do not despair of the mercy of Allah…”

Not “sometimes.”
Not “only for good people.”

Never despair.

A Hadith That Will Change Your Perspective

The Prophet ﷺ told us:

A servant sins and says: “O Allah, forgive me.”
Allah says: “My servant knows he has a Lord who forgives…”
So Allah forgives him.
Then he sins again… and repents again…
And Allah forgives him again.

Because your test is not only about results.

 Allah says:

“We made some of you a trial for others…”

When:

• People mock you
• People doubt you
• People ignore your efforts

 They are being tested through you
 And you are being tested through them

Your patience is being recorded.
Their arrogance is being recorded.

 The Rose That Doesn’t Wait for Approval

A rose does not bloom for praise.

It blooms because that’s its purpose.

After that:

• It may be admired
• Or ignored
• Or even destroyed

But it still blooms.

 Your job is not results.
 Your job is to show up and grow.

Nothing You Do Is Ever Wasted

In human systems—there is always waste.

In Allah’s system—there is none.

— (9:120)

Arabic:

إِنَّ اللَّهَ لَا يُضِيعُ أَجْرَ الْمُحْسِنِينَ

“Allah does not let the reward of good go to waste.”

Every:

• Effort
• Tear
• Dua
• Struggle

Is preserved.

 The Real Danger Isn’t Failure

It’s this thought:

“What’s the point?”

Because once you lose hope:

• You stop trying
• You stop praying
• You disconnect from Allah

And that… is the real loss.

So What Should You Do?

Keep it simple:

1. Accept yourself
2. Turn to Allah honestly
3. Speak your pain
4. Keep trying—even if you fail again

No drama. No perfection. Just sincerity.

 Final Thought

You can be tired.
You can feel broken.
You can fail again and again.

But if you still believe:

“Allah is there… and He sees me trying…”

Then you are not lost.

You are still on the path.

What is Paradise?

Human beings were sent from Paradise into this world so that Allah may test them.

(Surah Al-Mulk 67:2)

ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَ ٱلْمَوْتَ وَٱلْحَيَوٰةَ لِيَبْلُوَكُمْ أَيُّكُمْ أَحْسَنُ عَمَلًا

“He who created death and life to test you [as to] which of you is best in deed.”

When a human enters this world, they are given the form of a small child. All their previous memories are erased. Every person is placed in a unique environment—given parents, circumstances, and conditions.

Some are made orphans, some poor, some wealthy.

Some are given healthy bodies, while others are tested with disabilities.

Some are left without knowledge, while others are blessed with it.

(Surah Al-An’am 6:165)

وَهُوَ الَّذِي جَعَلَكُمْ خَلَائِفَ الْأَرْضِ... لِيَبْلُوَكُمْ فِي مَا آتَاكُمْ

“And He made you successors upon the earth… to test you in what He has given you.”

But what is knowledge?

There can be many definitions, but to me, knowledge is when a person gathers their observations, existing realities, their own emotions and the emotions of others—and seeks answers to questions. Whether the answer is pleasing or not, if it is true, then it is knowledge.

Since humans are confined in this world, and their intellect is limited within the body, Allah sent many Prophets for guidance. And now we are in the era of the final Prophet, Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).

Though he is not physically present in this world, his presence can still be felt through his living legacy and spiritual vision, for he is present 

In the Qur’an, Paradise is described in many places—how it will look and how people will feel there.

(Surah At-Tur 52:17)

إِنَّ الْمُتَّقِينَ فِي جَنَّاتٍ وَنَعِيمٍ

“Indeed, the righteous will be in gardens and pleasure.”

(Surah Al-Hijr 15:48)

لَا يَمَسُّهُمْ فِيهَا نَصَبٌ وَلَا هُمْ مِنْهَا بِمُخْرَجِينَ

“No fatigue will touch them there, nor will they be removed from it.”

When a person reflects on these descriptions, an image forms in their mind, and they begin to understand what Paradise might feel like.

Today, I will not explain Paradise itself, but rather share a reflection of how it may feel.

This is not rationality, this is emotion. 

So,

If someone asks me, “What is Paradise?”

I would say:

It is the early days of love,

when everything feels beautiful—

the beloved, time, oneself,

the world, dreams, and even thoughts.

And if this feeling were to last forever,

then perhaps that is Paradise.

Because it is a state

where a person does not need to search for blessings to feel grateful.

The heart is already full of joy.

Sorrows lose their importance,

everything feels beautiful,

and gratitude flows naturally.

So perhaps Paradise is another name for love.

And if love is a gift from Allah,

then attaining Allah Himself… is Paradise.

For me, this is Paradise.

What is Paradise for you?

 

There was a kite.

It was very beautiful—its eyes were striking, its colors were captivating, and it was larger than all the other kites.

It used to think that it could fly very high.

But its owner loved it deeply. He would admire it with full affection, yet he never flew it.

The kite would keep waiting for its time, wondering when its moment would come.

Finally, one day its time arrived.

The owner saw the weather was perfect and decided to fly his favorite kite.

He took the kite and went to an open field.

There was a beautiful scene all around—green grass, light clouds in the sky, a pleasant breeze, and a river nearby flowing with a soothing sound.

Seeing all this, the kite became very happy.

As soon as the owner started flying it, the kite rose very quickly into the sky, as if it had been waiting for this moment for centuries—and in truth, it was.

As it kept rising higher, it felt proud. The world below looked very small, and it felt like this was its true destiny.

But then the weather began to change.

The clouds darkened, and the wind became stronger.

The owner tried to pull the kite back by controlling the string.

But the kite resisted, as if it had become angry. Sometimes it went left, sometimes right, trying to break free from control.

The owner kept pulling the string again and again.

The kite then became frustrated and thought:

“I will not go back down.”

So it spoke to the wind:

“Can you free me from this human’s control? I will be very grateful to you.”

The wind showed its strength and broke the string.

The kite became extremely happy, thinking the wind was its true friend.

It completely surrendered itself to the wind, believing it had finally achieved true freedom.

The wind carried it far away.

Then the wind said, “Now I must go somewhere else,” and left the kite alone.

Now the kite had no support.

Slowly, it began to fall.

Eventually, it reached near a village.

Just as it was about to fall, two children saw it.

They thought it was something free to take.

They rushed toward it and tore it apart while fighting over it.

And in this way, the kite lost its life.

Spiritual Meaning

This story is not just about a kite.

It is about human beings.

Humans also love to “fly in the sky” of desires.

This is their deepest wish—to rise, to gain control, to feel freedom.

Allah has addressed this human desire in the Qur’an by mentioning word “. Hawa / Ahwa”  “desires”

Many times, people climb mountains or take extreme risks thinking they are “flying” spiritually or physically, but their end is the same as the kite’s fate.

In trying to fulfill their desires, humans sometimes harm others.

Just like the kite’s string injured a child’s hand, and in anger, the children destroyed it.

In the same way, when a person follows uncontrolled desire, they may harm others—and eventually, those same consequences return to them in the form of curses, hatred, or downfall.

Qur’anic References

1. Following Desires Leads to Misguidance

(Surah Al-Qasas 28:50)

Arabic:

فَإِن لَّمْ يَسْتَجِيبُوا لَكَ فَاعْلَمْ أَنَّمَا يَتَّبِعُونَ أَهْوَاءَهُمْ

“But if they do not respond to you, then know that they only follow their own desires.”

2. Do Not Follow Desires Away from Truth

(Surah Sad 38:26)

Arabic:

فَاحْكُم بَيْنَ النَّاسِ بِالْحَقِّ وَلَا تَتَّبِعِ الْهَوَىٰ فَيُضِلَّكَ عَن سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ

“So judge between people with truth and do not follow desire, lest it lead you away from the path of Allah.”

3. The Self Pushes Toward Desires

(Surah Yusuf 12:53)

وَمَا أُبَرِّئُ نَفْسِي ۚ إِنَّ النَّفْسَ لَأَمَّارَةٌ بِالسُّوءِ

“And I do not declare myself free from blame; indeed, the soul (nafs, inner ego) is inclined to evil.

Usually it's translate as soul but it's inner ego and nafs that becomes evil when it's free from Allah's will 

So,

The kite represents the human ego—

which thinks freedom means breaking every limit.

But real freedom is not in breaking the string…

Real freedom is in understanding who is holding it.
