What is Paradise?

Human beings were sent from Paradise into this world so that Allah may test them.

(Surah Al-Mulk 67:2)

ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَ ٱلْمَوْتَ وَٱلْحَيَوٰةَ لِيَبْلُوَكُمْ أَيُّكُمْ أَحْسَنُ عَمَلًا

“He who created death and life to test you [as to] which of you is best in deed.”

When a human enters this world, they are given the form of a small child. All their previous memories are erased. Every person is placed in a unique environment—given parents, circumstances, and conditions.

Some are made orphans, some poor, some wealthy.

Some are given healthy bodies, while others are tested with disabilities.

Some are left without knowledge, while others are blessed with it.

(Surah Al-An’am 6:165)

وَهُوَ الَّذِي جَعَلَكُمْ خَلَائِفَ الْأَرْضِ... لِيَبْلُوَكُمْ فِي مَا آتَاكُمْ

“And He made you successors upon the earth… to test you in what He has given you.”

But what is knowledge?

There can be many definitions, but to me, knowledge is when a person gathers their observations, existing realities, their own emotions and the emotions of others—and seeks answers to questions. Whether the answer is pleasing or not, if it is true, then it is knowledge.

Since humans are confined in this world, and their intellect is limited within the body, Allah sent many Prophets for guidance. And now we are in the era of the final Prophet, Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).

Though he is not physically present in this world, his presence can still be felt through his living legacy and spiritual vision, for he is present 

In the Qur’an, Paradise is described in many places—how it will look and how people will feel there.

(Surah At-Tur 52:17)

إِنَّ الْمُتَّقِينَ فِي جَنَّاتٍ وَنَعِيمٍ

“Indeed, the righteous will be in gardens and pleasure.”

(Surah Al-Hijr 15:48)

لَا يَمَسُّهُمْ فِيهَا نَصَبٌ وَلَا هُمْ مِنْهَا بِمُخْرَجِينَ

“No fatigue will touch them there, nor will they be removed from it.”

When a person reflects on these descriptions, an image forms in their mind, and they begin to understand what Paradise might feel like.

Today, I will not explain Paradise itself, but rather share a reflection of how it may feel.

This is not rationality, this is emotion. 

So,

If someone asks me, “What is Paradise?”

I would say:

It is the early days of love,

when everything feels beautiful—

the beloved, time, oneself,

the world, dreams, and even thoughts.

And if this feeling were to last forever,

then perhaps that is Paradise.

Because it is a state

where a person does not need to search for blessings to feel grateful.

The heart is already full of joy.

Sorrows lose their importance,

everything feels beautiful,

and gratitude flows naturally.

So perhaps Paradise is another name for love.

And if love is a gift from Allah,

then attaining Allah Himself… is Paradise.

For me, this is Paradise.

What is Paradise for you?

Human beings have always carried curiosity within them. They constantly try to uncover the secrets and wisdom behind everything. Even if not everything, they at least want to understand the purpose of their own existence.
Whenever a person does something wrong, something good, or something that repeatedly harms them, they begin to question themselves: “Why am I like this? Did Allah create me this way?”

When they fail to find answers, they often attribute their habits and actions directly to Allah.
The answer to this was beautifully expressed by Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib A.S:

(Arabic)

 مَنْ عَرَفَ نَفْسَهُ فَقَدْ عَرَفَ رَبَّهُ

“Whoever knows himself, knows his Lord.”

Now the question arises: 

How does a person know themselves?

A human being has many faces:
One with parents
One with relatives
One with siblings
One with friends
One in professional life 

And one when standing before Allah

You might think that the real self is the one shown in front of Allah.

But in reality, the true self appears when a person forgets Allah, when they feel: “I am alone. No one is watching me.”

At that moment, their true nature comes out.
When a person recognizes this reality within themselves, they begin to understand who they truly are. Then another question arises:
If I know myself, does that mean my Lord is like me?

The answer is no.

Instead, it means asking yourself: “Am I worthy of standing before my Lord?”

Because truth is always present before Him. If a person gains the courage to face that truth, they begin to correct themselves. And in that process, they find their Lord.

Then, wherever they are—among friends, family, or society—their personality becomes connected to Allah. Because even in solitude, they know: “I am not alone.”
This awareness makes them truthful and keeps them away from falsehood.

How Are the Secrets of the Universe Revealed?

The answer is simple but powerful:
Truthfulness opens the doors.
A person who cannot be truthful with themselves cannot be truthful with Allah.

Allah says in the Qur’an:

— Qur'an 2:186

وَإِذَا سَأَلَكَ عِبَادِي عَنِّي فَإِنِّي قَرِيبٌ ۖ أُجِيبُ دَعْوَةَ الدَّاعِ إِذَا دَعَانِ

“And when My servants ask you concerning Me, indeed I am near. I respond to the call of the caller when he calls upon Me.”

 The Hidden Condition

 (Secret Within the Secret)

Not everyone receives the answer.
Only the one who calls upon Allah with a true and sincere heart, not just as a ritual.
When a person becomes sincere:
The universe begins to reveal its hidden realities
Their inner restlessness turns into peace
But there is a price.
These truths come with responsibility:
Not everything is revealed
Only what a person can تحمل (bear)
Secrets are given to those who can protect them
And reveal them only at the right time

 

Human existence runs on desire. It is desire that pushes a person to struggle and work hard—perhaps you may not fully agree.

For example, if a person feels hungry and works to get food, that seems like survival. The human body is designed this way. So where does desire come into it?

Up to this point, I agree with you.

But let me ask: Have you ever asked that person if they would eat the same food for their entire life, even if it were the best food in the world?

Surely, they would refuse.

Just like the Children of Israel once complained that they could not keep eating the same food every day—they wanted variety.

Quranic Reference – Bani Israel

(Surah Al-Baqarah 2:61)

Arabic:

لَن نَّصْبِرَ عَلَىٰ طَعَامٍ وَاحِدٍ

“We cannot endure one kind of food.” 

Now reverse the question:

If someone is told: “You can eat anything you want, except one specific food for your entire life,”

Many people would agree immediately. Others would think deeply and question why.

Does this remind you of something?

Quranic Reference – Adam (AS)

(Surah Al-Baqarah 2:35)

Arabic:

وَقُلْنَا يَا آدَمُ اسْكُنْ أَنتَ وَزَوْجُكَ الْجَنَّةَ وَكُلَا مِنْهَا رَغَدًا حَيْثُ شِئْتُمَا وَلَا تَقْرَبَا هَٰذِهِ الشَّجَرَةَ

“O Adam, dwell you and your wife in Paradise and eat freely from wherever you wish, but do not approach this tree…” 

According to tafsir, Adam (AS) was drawn toward that very thing which was restricted. Then Shaytan deceived him, and he slipped, leading to his descent to Earth.

Core Question

What kind of force exists within desire that made Adam (AS) risk disobedience?

Possible answers:

• It was part of Allah’s divine plan.
• A sense of curiosity.
• The attraction toward the forbidden.
• Or something deeply embedded in human nature.

Quranic Psychology Insight

Even if a human has everything…  they still want more.

So why are we here?

• Just for a test?
• To see who does good deeds?
• Or something deeper?

Quranic Answer

Arabic:

لِيَبْلُوَكُمْ أَيُّكُمْ أَحْسَنُ عَمَلًا

“He tests you to see which of you is best in deeds.” 

But what is a good deed?

Is it simply following Shariah?

Look at your own life:

Is there something you know is wrong, yet you still do it—and when you try to stop, you feel cravings?

For example: backbiting.

At the same time, you desire things like a new car.

Comparison with Adam (AS)

Adam (AS) had Paradise, yet one restriction.

You have blessings, yet certain limits.

Now imagine:

If Allah said: “Leave backbiting, and I will give you a new car.”

What would you do?

• Some would quit instantly.
• Some would doubt.
• Some would say: “I only want Allah.”

Final Insight

Everything comes back to desire.

What you truly want defines your path.

• If you desire the world → you chase it
• If you desire Allah → you move toward Him

The path is open.

If Adam (AS) had raised his hands in dua instead of reaching for the tree…

Would Allah have refused?

Perhaps not.

We may still not fully understand what desire truly is…

But we have come close:

Desire is not just a need—it is a test of direction, loyalty, and priority.

 

Zahir and Batin in Islam:

 Aligning Inner Intentions and Outer Actions 

(Qur’anic Psychology)

Human beings naturally desire that everything they do turns out right. They want to be liked, respected, and admired by others. However, reality often proves otherwise—circumstances and relationships make it impossible to please everyone.

A powerful truth emerges here:

A person who tries to be liked by everyone often compromises sincerity—and this is where hypocrisy (nifaq) begins.

Islam does not teach us to chase people’s approval. Instead, it teaches us to correct ourselves from within by aligning our Zahir (outer self) and Batin (inner self) according to the guidance of Allah.

 Allah is Al-Zahir and Al-Batin

One of the most profound attributes of Allah is that He knows both what is visible and what is hidden.

Surah Al-Hadid (57:3)

هُوَ الْأَوَّلُ وَالْآخِرُ وَالظَّاهِرُ وَالْبَاطِنُ ۖ وَهُوَ بِكُلِّ شَيْءٍ عَلِيمٌ

“He is the First and the Last, the Manifest (Zahir) and the Hidden (Batin), and He has knowledge of all things.”

This verse establishes a foundational principle:

• Allah sees your actions (Zahir)
• Allah knows your intentions, emotions, and hidden thoughts (Batin)

The Illusion of a Perfect Image

Many people focus on fixing their outward image:

• Speaking kindly
• Acting respectfully
• Showing goodness in public

But when they are alone, their inner state may contradict their outer behavior:

• Jealousy (hasad)
• Negative assumptions
• Inner dissatisfaction

Surah Al-An'am (6:120)

وَذَرُوا ظَاهِرَ الْإِثْمِ وَبَاطِنَهُ

“Abandon both the open sins and the hidden ones.”

This verse makes it clear:

Islam is not just about what people see—it is about what Allah sees within you.

 Jealousy: A Hidden Rejection of Divine Decree

A person may recognize that someone else is better than them:

• They admit it outwardly
• But internally, they feel discomfort or resentment

This reflects a deeper issue:

A lack of contentment with Allah’s distribution (Qadr).

Such feelings, if not controlled, can evolve into:

• Hatred
• سوء ظن (bad assumptions)
• Even harmful intentions

Surah Al-Baqarah (2:284)

وَإِن تُبْدُوا مَا فِي أَنفُسِكُمْ أَوْ تُخْفُوهُ يُحَاسِبْكُم بِهِ اللَّهُ

“Whether you reveal what is within yourselves or conceal it, Allah will call you to account for it.”

 What is Hypocrisy (Nifaq)?

Hypocrisy is not only about lying—it is about misalignment:

• When the outer self shows goodness
• But the inner self holds negativity

For example:

• Praising someone publicly
• While disliking them internally

This contradiction indicates:

A personality that is not aligned with truth and sincerity.

Islam calls for integrity, where your inner and outer selves match.

 Life is a Test of Inner and Outer Alignment

Allah has sent human beings into this world:

• To learn
• To grow
• To earn reward through actions

But actions are only accepted when they meet two conditions:

1. Correct intention (Batin)
2. Correct action (Zahir)

This is what makes a deed truly صالح (righteous).

 The Criterion of Success

Surah Al-Asr (103:1–3)

وَالْعَصْرِ ۝ إِنَّ الْإِنسَانَ لَفِي خُسْرٍ ۝ إِلَّا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ

“By time, indeed mankind is in loss—except those who believe and perform righteous deeds…”

True success is not based on:

• Popularity
• Image
• Social approval

Rather, it depends on:

• Faith (Iman)
• Righteous actions aligned with sincere intention

 Transparency: The Key to Acceptance

For a deed to be truly accepted:

• It must be transparent
• It must reflect your true intention
• It must follow Allah’s guidance (Qur’anic protocol)

A good deed without sincerity is incomplete, and sincerity without action is insufficient.

 

Why Human Goodness Lies in Bowing Before Allah

(A Short story with Spiritual wisdom)

The question is: Why does true goodness for a human lie in bowing before Allah?

Let us understand this through a short story.

The Man Searching for Water

There once was a man who was extremely thirsty.
His throat was dry, and he felt weak from thirst.

He wandered through a jungle, searching everywhere for water, but he could not find a single drop of water.

It was winter, and the area was surrounded by mountains.

He kept walking and searching, but still he found no water.

Then suddenly, far away on a mountain peak, he noticed snow.

A small hope appeared in his heart, and he started walking toward it.

When he finally reached there, he saw something interesting.

The snow on the mountain was melting,
and the water was flowing down a slope and gathering in a very small lake below.

The man walked down to that small lake and drank the water until his thirst was satisfied.

Now a question arises.

If snow is also water —
just in a solid form —

then why didn’t the man simply go up and eat the snow?

After all, it would melt in his stomach and satisfy his thirst.

But he did not do that.

Why?

Because the human body is not designed to process water in that form.

The body needs water in a state that is suitable for it.

This is the natural system created by Allah.

The Qur’an points to this reality.

— Qur’an 95:4–6

Arabic

لَقَدْ خَلَقْنَا الْإِنسَانَ فِي أَحْسَنِ تَقْوِيمٍ
ثُمَّ رَدَدْنَاهُ أَسْفَلَ سَافِلِينَ
إِلَّا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ

“Indeed, We created man in the best form.
Then We returned him to the lowest of the low —
except those who believe and do righteous deeds.”

From here we understand another reality.

When the prophets of Allah performed miracles, it was because Allah elevated them spiritually and made them capable of bearing a greater level of divine power.

A powerful example appears in the story of Prophet Musa (Moses).

— Qur’an 7:143

Arabic

فَلَمَّا تَجَلَّى رَبُّهُ لِلْجَبَلِ
جَعَلَهُ دَكًّا وَخَرَّ مُوسَىٰ صَعِقًا

“When his Lord manifested His glory to the mountain,
He made it crumble, and Moses fell unconscious.”

If a mountain could not bear even a small manifestation of Allah’s glory,
then how could an ordinary human bear it?

This shows that to reach higher spiritual levels, a human must first prepare himself.

This is why bowing before Allah is necessary for human beings.

This bowing is not just physical —
it is the bowing of the ego.

One of Allah’s names is:

Al-Mutakabbir (المتكبر)
meaning The Truly Supreme and Majestic.

He is Al-Mutakabbir becusae he is the lord of all the mercy and all the kindness 

What a human being is in front of him ? 

What's in his hands?

 But when a human being lets go of his pride and ego, Allah raises his status. And A human becomes to be able to get snow in his hands directly because Allah’s mercy is like snow resting on the peaks of mountains —

high, majestic, and powerful.

When a human faces hardship and sincerely prays,
his prayer becomes like warmth.

That warmth melts the snow of mercy,
and it turns into water that flows down into the person’s hands.

If the person shows gratitude, the mercy remains.

But if the person is ungrateful, that mercy may leave his hands
and reach someone else instead.

Allah’s Promise

Allah reminds us in the Qur’an:

— Qur’an 4:122

Arabic

وَمَنْ أَصْدَقُ مِنَ اللَّهِ قِيلًا

“And who is more truthful in speech than Allah?”

This is why true goodness for a human lies in bowing before Allah.

Because when a human being lowers his ego,
Allah Himself raises his status. Because no one is truthful in speech than him

Why every Human is Unique? A Islamic Spirituality

A Reflection Through Asma-ul-Husna (The 99 Names of Allah)

If we look at human anatomy, we notice that humans appear very similar.
We all have two eyes, two hands, two legs, and the same biological structure.

Yet, despite this similarity, every human being is unique.

For example, if you look at human hands, they look almost identical.
But when you examine the fingerprints, you discover that every person has a completely unique fingerprint.

So the question arises:

Why are all humans unique?

Let us try to explore this question through Asma-ul-Husna — the 99 Names of Allah.

Humans as a Reflection of Divine Attributes

The 99 Names of Allah represent His attributes.
But an important secret lies here:

A human being can be understood as a mixture of these attributes in different proportions.

However, these 99 names are not the complete list of Allah’s attributes.
Allah possesses many more attributes that humans do not even know.

The Qur’an hints at the infinite nature of Allah’s attributes in the following verse:

Reference: Qur’an 18:109

قُل لَّوْ كَانَ الْبَحْرُ مِدَادًا لِّكَلِمَاتِ رَبِّي لَنَفِدَ الْبَحْرُ قَبْلَ أَن تَنفَدَ كَلِمَاتُ رَبِّي وَلَوْ جِئْنَا بِمِثْلِهِ مَدَدًا

“Say: If the sea were ink for writing the words of my Lord, the sea would be exhausted before the words of my Lord were exhausted, even if We brought another like it as a supplement.”

This verse shows that Allah’s attributes and knowledge are limitless.

Humans Carry Reflections of These Attributes

Human beings are bound to these attributes in limited forms.

For example:

One of Allah’s names is Ar-Rahman (The Most Merciful / The Most Kind).

Humans can also be kind and merciful, but only in a limited way.

Now consider this question:

If someone is kind, how would you measure how much kindness they have?

Two people can both be called kind, but their level of kindness may be completely different.

There is no exact measurement.

Understanding It Through a Simple Example

To understand this better, imagine editing a picture on your phone.

You take a photo and increase its contrast.

You might increase it to 100%.

After that, you cannot increase it further.

If you use advanced software like Photoshop, maybe the range increases to 150%, but eventually it stops.

However, in Allah’s system, there is no such limit.

It is infinite.

Only Allah decides how much of an attribute a person carries.

And this system is not frozen.

It changes with time and life experiences.

For example:

A person may be very kind today.
After a painful incident, that same person may become less kind, more kind, or completely different.

Human personality is therefore dynamic, not fixed.

But There Are Only 99 Names 

 And Billions of Humans

Now another question appears:

There are more than 7 billion humans on Earth, but only 99 names of Allah.

And throughout history, billions of humans have already lived and died.

All of them were unique.

How is this possible?

To understand this, we can look at a mathematical idea.

The Mathematical Secret

In mathematics there is a concept:

2ⁿ (Two raised to the power of N)

This power keeps increasing combinations exponentially.

For example:

2³ = 8 possible combinations

Explanation = 2×2×2 =8

If we use the numbers {1, 2, 3} as the set, the subsets are:

   1. {} (Empty set)

   2. {1}

   3. {2}

   4. {3}

   5. {1, 2}

   6. {1, 3}

   7. {2, 3}

   8. {1, 2, 3}

Similarly:

2⁴ = 16 combinations.

Now imagine:

2⁹⁹

This number becomes extremely large.

The result is approximately:

633,825,300,114,114,700,748,351,602,688

If we write it in words:

Six hundred thirty-three octillion,
eight hundred twenty-five septillion,
three hundred sextillion,
one hundred fourteen quintillion,
one hundred fourteen quadrillion,
seven hundred trillion,
seven hundred forty-eight billion,
three hundred fifty-one million,
six hundred two thousand,
six hundred eighty-eight.

Now compare this number with 7 billion humans.

It is far larger.

This means that even with just 99 attributes, the number of possible combinations is enormous.

Another Important Point

Humans cannot carry all attributes equally.

For example:

A person may be kind, but that does not mean he cannot also be strict or revengeful in some situations.

He may be kind to some people but harsh to others.

This again creates new combinations of personality.

And since human experiences change throughout life, these combinations also change continuously.

This makes the world extremely diverse and dynamic.

Now, if we look closely, we know that Allah has 99 Names.

From these Names, many combinations can be created.

Each of these combinations can also have a variable percentage, which is not fixed.

For example, we do not know the total extent of Allah’s kindness, but using this concept, we can understand that the 99 Names shown to us represent the limit Allah has allowed us to perceive.

We can consider these 99 Names as the maximum framework accessible to human understanding.

Returning to the Picture Editing Example

Imagine you have a photo that you want to edit.

In this photo, there are 99 options you can adjust: brightness, contrast, hue, saturation, shadows, and so on.

Each option can be adjusted from 0% to 99%.

Now, suppose you start editing your photo and set:

Brightness = 8%

Contrast = 3%

Hue = 5%

Saturation = 5%

Shadows = 1%

…and so on.

Can you imagine how unique this edited photo would look?

This is exactly how human personality works with the 99 Names of Allah—each combination is unique and variable, just like the settings on your photo.

Applying the Math Again

Now let’s do the math using this idea:

(2^{99})^{99} = 2^{99 \times 99} = 2^{9,801}

This means a number so large that even writing all 2,900 digits together would still not fully represent it because its bigger than that

Comparison with the Largest Known Numbers

The largest commonly known number is a googol, which is:

10^{100} \quad \text{(1 followed by 100 zeros)}

Even this googol is smaller than . In comparison it's like an ant to it

This allows us to begin to understand the immensity of Almighty Allah.

The combinations of the 99 Names, each with its variable “percentage,” demonstrate infinite possibilities.

Just like each photo can be edited in a nearly limitless number of ways, every human being is unique, reflecting the boundless attributes of Allah.

Amazing

What we observe in humanity is only a tiny reflection of Allah’s infinite attributes.

And when we see how vast these reflections are within humanity, we begin to realize how limitless the Creator truly is.

The Deeper Wisdom Behind the 99 Names

The 99 Names of Allah are not given only to describe Allah.

They are also given so that humans can understand a small introduction to the greatness of Allah.

If these attributes appear so vast and complex when we see their reflections in human beings, then imagine how infinite the reality of Allah truly is.
