Science says that we are always seeing the past, because light takes time to reach us, right?

Then if we look from the perspective of the Quran, we ourselves may currently be in what could be understood as a “past state.”

Of course, the event of Miraj already points toward something beyond normal human perception, but since science does not accept it in the same way, why not search for the answer through science itself and then compare it with the Quran as well?

For this, we may need to move from physics toward biology.

The Fly's Perception of Time

Flies process visual information much faster than humans.
Their brains detect movement quickly, making fast actions appear slower to them.
This is why a fly can easily avoid a human swat.
Scientists use the critical flicker fusion rate to measure this ability.
Humans process about 60 visual flashes per second.
Flies process around 200–300 flashes per second.
This gives flies a more “detailed” perception of fast motion.

For the fly, its life is completely normal, just like ours is normal for us. But the way our hand appears to move slowly to the fly, in the same way we see the Sun moving in a kind of slow motion. But in the vast reality of space, the Earth is hurtling around the Sun at over 67,000 miles per hour, and the Sun itself is traveling through the galaxy at roughly 448,000 miles per hour.

From a fly’s perspective, one human year may feel like 4–6 years because flies process time and movement much faster than humans.

Something similar is also reflected in the Quran.

Quranic Verses on Time Dilation

— Surah Al-Hajj (22:47)

﴿ وَإِنَّ يَوْمًا عِندَ رَبِّكَ كَأَلْفِ سَنَةٍ مِّمَّا تَعُدُّونَ ﴾

“And indeed, a day with your Lord is like a thousand years of what you count.”

— Surah Al-Ma'arij (70:4)

﴿ تَعْرُجُ الْمَلَائِكَةُ وَالرُّوحُ إِلَيْهِ فِي يَوْمٍ كَانَ مِقْدَارُهُ خَمْسِينَ أَلْفَ سَنَةٍ ﴾

“The angels and the Spirit ascend to Him in a Day whose measure is fifty thousand years.”

— Surah As-Sajdah (32:5)

﴿ يُدَبِّرُ الْأَمْرَ مِنَ السَّمَاءِ إِلَى الْأَرْضِ ثُمَّ يَعْرُجُ إِلَيْهِ فِي يَوْمٍ كَانَ مِقْدَارُهُ أَلْفَ سَنَةٍ مِّمَّا تَعُدُّونَ ﴾

“Allah governs every matter from the heaven to the earth, then it ascends to Him in a Day whose measure is a thousand years of what you count.”

The Reality of Time After Death

These verses reflect the same kind of reality: when we die and enter other realms, we may realize what the true nature of time actually is.

How?

The Quran says that on the Day of Judgment, people will be asked how long they remained in the world:

— Surah Al-Mu’minun (23:113)

﴿ قَالُوا لَبِثْنَا يَوْمًا أَوْ بَعْضَ يَوْمٍ ﴾

“They will say: We remained a day or part of a day.”

The Transformation of Sight

Now think of it this way: if that fly were suddenly given human eyes, then those same 4–6 years would appear to it as only one year.

And the fly would say the same thing.

Why?

Because what seemed slow to it was actually happening very quickly in reality.

About this too, the Quran says that on that Day human sight will become sharp:

— Surah Qaf (50:22)

﴿ فَبَصَرُكَ الْيَوْمَ حَدِيدٌ ﴾

“Today your sight has become sharp.”

The same thing that would happen to the fly if its eyes were changed.

Dimensions of Time and The Event of Miraj

So what if we are currently within time in a kind of “past state”?

And perhaps the event of Miraj was different because Allah opened all dimensions of time for Prophet Muhammad ﷺ . 

something an ordinary human being may only experience after death.

As long as we are in this world, we can still correct our future by correcting our actions, because Allah does not wrong anyone.

Important Note:

These verses teach us that time flows differently in different realms. Allah also introduced Himself to us through "Light", so it is possible that the speed of light may differ across different realms as well. We also do not know whether the “day” mentioned refers to the measure of light traveling in our realm, a normal day and night cycle, or something entirely beyond human understanding. 

The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said:

"A place in Paradise as small as a bow is better than all that the sun rises and sets upon. A journey in the cause of Allah in the morning or evening is better than the world and whatever is in it."

This Hadith also supports the idea that realities beyond our world may operate differently, just as the Quran points toward differences in time and realms. Many possibilities may exist, but their true reality is known only to Allah.

A person may try very hard, yet sins can still happen. Sometimes they happen by mistake, sometimes because of emotional pain, and sometimes because of past trauma. These are all triggers.

Think about what happens during Ramadan.

People become more conscious, more careful, and more aware of Allah.

Because the environment itself changes. Fasting, worship, prayer, and the collective atmosphere all work together. Because everyone around you is practicing restraint, you naturally begin avoiding many wrong actions too.

But Ramadan ends. 

Then what about the other eleven months?

There is a very amazing system that many people do not realize: 

The Human Sensory System: 

A Natural Spiritual Radar

During Ramadan, this system becomes more active.

You stop yourself before saying something wrong.

You avoid listening to harmful things.

You control inappropriate touch.

You lower your gaze from wrong things.

Even unpleasant or immoral things begin to disturb your heart, and you say Astaghfirullah.

At the same time, prayer supports you. Dua supports you. Allah’s blessings support you. All these things work together.

Then Ramadan ends, and this system becomes weaker because the environment changes again.

But if a person continues practicing this awareness, they can gradually develop an internal “radar system.”

It works like a mobile phone sensor—when an incorrect fingerprint touches it, a warning is immediately triggered. In the same way, this inner alert system can help protect a person from falling into sin.

The stronger this internal sensor becomes, the faster it reacts, stopping sin at an earlier stage.

It may not completely remove sin, but it can significantly reduce it.

Because Allah says in Quran 

Surah Al-Isra — 17:36

إِنَّ السَّمْعَ وَالْبَصَرَ وَالْفُؤَادَ كُلُّ أُولَٰئِكَ كَانَ عَنْهُ مَسْؤُولًا

Indeed, the hearing, the sight, and the heart — all of these will be questioned.

Keeping yourself within healthy limits makes this system stronger and more helpful.

 Allah's says 

— Surah An-Najm (53:39)

وَأَن لَّيْسَ لِلْإِنسَانِ إِلَّا مَا سَعَىٰ

And that there is not for man except what he strives for.

And 

Surah Al-Baqarah — 2:286

لَا يُكَلِّفُ اللَّهُ نَفْسًا إِلَّا وُسْعَهَا

Allah does not burden a soul beyond what it can bear.”

And above all, the most important thing is intention — being sincere and loyal to Allah.

The Common Understanding VS

 The Deeper Reality

This is one of the most famous hadiths in Islam. It is often understood as: if you desire something good for yourself, you should also wish it for others so that love, sincerity, and fairness remain between people.

This understanding is correct.

It teaches that wishing well for others is a core part of faith. If we want respect, honesty, and kindness from others, we must first hold the same intention for them.

But beneath this simple message lies deep human psychology.

The Inner Foundation: 

Self-Love and Emotional State

Psychologically, a person cannot pour from an empty cup. Someone filled with insecurity, self-hate, or inner chaos struggles to sincerely wish good for others. Such emotions often lead to projection—where inner pain is reflected outward.

So this hadith also points to an inner requirement: true brotherhood needs a heart that is stable, sincere, and content with Allah’s decree. Only then can a person genuinely wish good for others without jealousy or comparison.

Faith Is Tested in Difficulty

These values are easy during comfort. People appear kind, calm, and sincere when life is smooth.

But the real test begins in hardship.

When jealousy, anger, or insecurity arises, many forget this hadith. Backbiting starts, harsh words appear, or a person may even feel silent satisfaction at someone else’s failure.

Then if roles reverse and they experience the same harm, they ask:

 “Why did you do that to me?”

But the deeper question should be:

Why did I do it first?

Why am I jealous?

What triggered my anger?

What insecurity is inside me?

Is my reaction truly justified?

The Psychology of Reaction and Accountability

Sometimes we are hurt first, but Islam still teaches pause and reflection before reaction.

Not every emotional response is justified simply because we feel hurt. Faith demands self-awareness, emotional control, and responsibility before blaming others. That is why this hadith is not only about kindness, but also about controlling the ego (nafs).

The Real Test of Iman

The test of iman is not in ease, but in emotional struggle.

Loving good for others when life is easy is simple. But loving good for others while dealing with anger, jealousy, ego, or personal pain is the real challenge.

And this struggle always begins within. A believer constantly examines their heart, questions their emotions, and corrects their intentions before judging others.

In today’s world, maintaining balance has become extremely difficult.

As Muslims, people have to maintain balance in many areas of life:

Maintaining religion while also fulfilling worldly responsibilities

Keeping the outer self and inner self aligned

Staying spiritually connected while dealing with modern pressures

But in this new generation, a confusion has started to appear. Many people think that if sinful actions and good deeds become “balanced,” then life itself becomes balanced. But this is not true balance.

This confusion often comes because whenever people talk about the balance of the universe, examples are given such as:

Day and night

Good and evil

Flowers and thorns

These things appear to “balance” each other, yet they are completely opposite to one another. So some people begin to think that mixing righteousness and sin equally may also create balance in life.

But this is only an illusion.

Because in the Quran, Allah says:

— Surah Al-Baqarah 2:208

يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا ادْخُلُوا فِي السِّلْمِ كَافَّةً

“O you who believe! Enter into Islam completely (fully).”

So then, What Does Balance Mean in Islam?

Let us understand it through nature.

The Sun, Moon, and Stars Analogy

During the day, the sun shines brightly.

Then night comes, and the moon and stars appear.

And even when the moon is absent, the stars still remain.

From this, we learn that balance means:

When circumstances are in your favor, shine like the sun.

And when circumstances are not fully in your favor, then become like the moon — even if you cannot guide people with the brightness of the full day, you can still help show the way.

And if conditions become even more difficult, and your light becomes small like the stars, then even that small light can still give hope that darkness is not complete.

Because the one who cannot survive difficult times can never become a great light later.

This is balance in Islam.

Allah says in the Quran:

— Surah Al-Baqarah 2:286

لَا يُكَلِّفُ اللَّهُ نَفْسًا إِلَّا وُسْعَهَا

“Allah does not burden a soul beyond what it can bear.”

Balance means using your given capacity in the best possible way without overburdening yourself.

That is why, even if life becomes extremely difficult, Squeeze your lifestyle and simplify it, Adjust yourself according to your situation and still keep good hope in Allah. If it feels very difficult, then still… keep holding onto at least one prayer so your light remains alive and your balance does not completely disappear.

Islam gives great importance to truthfulness. The Prophet ﷺ repeatedly encouraged people to speak the truth, and the Quran also calls believers toward honesty and sincerity.

Allah says:

— Surah At-Tawbah 9:119

يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا اتَّقُوا اللَّهَ وَكُونُوا مَعَ الصَّادِقِينَ

“O you who believe! Fear Allah and be with those who are truthful.”

At the same time, the Quran strongly condemns lying:

— Surah Aal-e-Imran 3:61

فَنَجْعَل لَّعْنَتَ اللَّهِ عَلَى الْكَاذِبِينَ

“And invoke the curse of Allah upon the liars.”

 Deeper meaning

Now if we reflect on the psychology behind this, can a dishonest person ever feel truly confident?

Of course not.

Because deep inside, a liar knows that at any moment their reality can be exposed. They live with the fear of being unmasked. That hidden fear slowly destroys inner confidence.

True confidence comes from inner purity and sincerity. When a person becomes truthful, they stop carrying the burden of fake personalities and false images. This is why real confidence is not created through pretending or acting confident.

Real confidence begins with truth

Even worship gives peace only when a person sincerely surrenders to Allah.

That is why the best way to build self-confidence in Islam is not to fake confidence, but to become truthful with Allah, with people, and with yourself.

When you start speaking the truth, you naturally begin seeing your flaws honestly, and this helps you improve yourself without living in denial.

This was the character of our beloved Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. He spoke calmly, gently, and truthfully. His honesty itself became a source of dignity, peace, and strength.

Allah says:

— Surah Aal-e-Imran 3:139

وَلَا تَهِنُوا وَلَا تَحْزَنُوا وَأَنتُمُ الْأَعْلَوْنَ إِن كُنتُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ

“Do not lose heart nor fall into despair, for you will be superior if you are true believers.”

If we reflect deeply on this verse, Allah is pointing toward inner self-reflection. If your faith is sincere and truthful, then you should not live with weakness and inferiority.

Why?

Because Allah supports those who are sincere and truthful.

The Quran also says:

— Surah Yunus 10:62

أَلَا إِنَّ أَوْلِيَاءَ اللَّهِ لَا خَوْفٌ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلَا هُمْ يَحْزَنُونَ

“Indeed, the friends of Allah will have no fear, nor will they grieve.”

Why will they have no fear?

Because they are free from inner hypocrisy, fake identities, and spiritual emptiness. Their worth is not dependent on material status, social validation, or worldly appearance.

Allah removes fear from the hearts of those who sincerely trust Him.

So if a person is truthful, sincere, free from inner complexes, and fully accepts the life Allah has given them, can such a person truly remain underconfident?

The answer lies within yourself.

“Why is life so difficult?”

This is a question we often find ourselves asking while trying to search for an answer, so that life may become a little better...

Sometimes we succeed, and sometimes even more difficulties arrive. But it never truly happens that a person completely fixes everything. Why is that? Perhaps today we may be able to search for its answer in this article.

For this, let us reflect upon a famous saying of Ali ibn Abi Talib (A.S):

إِنَّكُمْ حَصَائِدُ الْآجَالِ وَأَغْرَاضُ الْحِمَامِ

“You are the harvests of the appointed terms and the targets of death.”

Now if we look deeply at this, mankind has been called a harvest, and it is said that we are tied to appointed terms, while being the targets of death.

Then the question arises: what is harvested?

Crops.

So all of us are like crops, and every crop has different assigned terms, and all of this must be completed before death, right?

Then how does a crop become ready?

By ripening under sunlight, correct?

It needs sunlight, right? But instead, it keeps protecting itself from the sun and remains hidden in the shade.

And when night arrives, it reveals itself under the light of the moon and thinks that now it will ripen — but will it truly ripen? Rather, it will only become wetter because of the dew, and its roots may even rot from too much moisture, simply because it fears the sunlight.

Then if the time of death arrives, what will happen?

The entire process will have been wasted.

But the one who endured the burning sunlight and eventually produced a healthy seed — when death comes to him, he feels happiness, because at last he became successful, even though those days beneath the harsh sunlight were difficult.

And this is the reason why life feels difficult to us.

But this is only for a short time. Everything will change. Your seed will be planted in Paradise, where sunlight will never trouble you again.

A question is often asked: what is Ilm al-Ladunni?

 (divinely granted knowledge)?

And how can it be attained?

Well, the Qur’an discusses this in detail in Surah Al-Kahf, verses 60 to 82, where a complete incident is described.

To properly understand it, we need to know the background of this story. This incident is explained in the tafsir of Tafsir Ibn Kathir.

Background

 Ubayy ibn Ka'b (RA)said that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: 

Once, Prophet Musa (AS) stood up to deliver a sermon to the Children of Israel (Bani Israel). He was asked, Who is the most learned person in the world?

He (Musa AS) replied, I am.

Because he did not attribute the knowledge to Allah, Allah disliked this statement. At that very moment, a revelation (Wahi) came: Yes, at the junction of the two seas (Majma-ul-Bahrayn), there is a servant of Ours who is more knowledgeable than you.'

Upon this, Prophet Musa (AS) asked, O my Lord, how can I reach him?

This text is a part of a famous Hadith (Sahih Bukhari) that describes the beginning of the journey of Prophet Musa (AS) to find Hazrat Khidr (AS).

Now the part in Quran:

Surah Al-Kahf (60–82):

Moses traveled with his young companion to reach the meeting point of the two seas. They lost their fish near a rock, but forgot about it and continued their journey. Later, when Moses asked for food, the companion remembered that the fish had taken its way into the sea. They returned to the place and found a servant of Allah who had been given mercy and special knowledge.

Moses asked to follow him and learn from him. The servant told Moses that he would not be able to remain patient and ordered him not to question anything until it was explained.

They boarded a ship, and the servant damaged it. Moses objected, but the servant reminded him of his warning. Then they met a boy, and the servant killed him. Moses again objected, and the servant repeated the warning. Later they came to a town whose people refused them hospitality. They found a wall about to collapse, and the servant repaired it. Moses suggested he could have taken payment for it.

The servant then said this was the end of their companionship and explained the events:

The ship belonged to poor people, and a king was taking every good ship by force, so he damaged it.

The boy’s parents were believers, and it was feared he would burden them with disbelief and transgression, so Allah intended to replace him with someone better.

The wall belonged to two orphan boys, and beneath it was a treasure for them. Their righteous father had left it, so Allah intended the treasure to remain protected until they matured.

The servant said he did not do these actions by his own command.

Now you have taken the whole sequence, but still you don’t understand what Ilm al-Ladunni is, right?

Let’s decode it:

This is my personal reflection on the story of Musa (A.S) and Khidr (A.S) in Surah Al-Kahf. It is an attempt to understand deeper secrets.

Let’s see what kind of personal reflection you build in your mind.

1.

Allah said in ayah 65 of Surah Al-Kahf that “We gave him knowledge from Us.”

What kind of knowledge does Allah have that humans do not?

Knowledge of the unseen (ghaib), right?

So Allah granted some drops of it to Hazrat Khizar (A.S).

2.

In ayah 68, Hazrat Khizar (A.S) demanded sabr from Hazrat Musa (A.S).

Here sabr does not only mean to wait, it also means trust.

And he warned that you cannot trust the process because you do not know.

But Musa (A.S) said in ayah 69: “You will find me patient (saabir).”

3.

In ayah 71, he made a hole in the boat, and in ayah 79 he revealed the secret:

the people were poor, and to protect them he damaged the boat because a king wanted to seize it.

 Deeper Secret:

If you had that kind of information, what would you feel instantly?

You would feel pity, and to show kindness you would tell them everything.

But Allah does not want you to reveal all information to them.

So what would you do?

Maybe the same that Hazrat Khizar (A.S) did.

So here comes the secret of the name of Allah, Ar-Rahim (The Especially Merciful).

He became a servant of Ar-Rahim and did his job secretly.

Why Ar-Rahim? Because it means The Especially Merciful,

and he showed a special kind of mercy by only making a hole in their boat.

4.

In ayah 74, he killed a boy, and in ayah 80 he revealed that the boy’s parents were believers,

and it was to protect them from becoming disbelievers.

Deeper Secret:

Parents love their children, and in that love they sometimes do things that are not acceptable in front of Allah.

So when he realized all that, he acted as a servant of Allah’s name Al-Qahhar (The Subduer) and killed the boy.

The trial of the parents still happened because the child died, and they had to do sabr.

And Allah wanted to give them another child because they were believers.

So in that moment, they successfully passed the trial.

And the child also passed, because he had not done anything yet,

so he went to Jannah because Allah liked his parents.

5.

In ayah 77, the wall was built, and the secret was revealed in ayah 82:

it belonged to two orphan boys, and beneath it was a treasure, and their father was righteous.

Deeper Secret:

Here comes the name Al-Wahhab (The Giver of Gifts).

Because it means The One who gives gifts,

and this treasure was a gift due to their father being righteous.

And Hazrat Khizar (A.S) did all of this as a reflection of these powers of Allah’s names,

as a true servant should do.

Final Reflection:

 Ilm al-Ladunni is not just a single thing that a person can attain on their own. Even Musa A.S received revelation, yet he still did not possess the specific perspective that Khidr A.S had — which is why he asked for the reasons behind his actions.

This knowledge can reach a person in different ways. Revelation (wahy) is specifically for prophets, in which an angel acts as the messenger. Apart from that, an ordinary person may experience it through inspiration (ilham), spiritual unveiling (kashf), or true dreams. However, one must also know how to recognize and judge these experiences, because they can sometimes be satanic deception as well.

“If you still wish to attain all of this, Musa (A.S) already showed the way: It demands trials and tests.

first you must have sabr — you must trust the process, even when you don’t understand it. But don't forget the satanic traps.

And Allah never repeats things in the same way;

He always repeats them in a new way.

So your trial will be different.

You cannot learn it.

you can only receive it by surrendering yourself to Allah.

And when this state arrives, neither dreams nor signs are required anymore, because it originates deep within the heart.

A secret tip:

 If you truly desire this, become a servant of Al-Adl. Begin with self-reflection, for unless it is rooted within you, it cannot be reflected in your actions.

And if it does not reflect in your actions, you cannot receive it.

Allah has 99 names, and every name contains many secrets.

Today, we discover Al-Adl

what it really is.

Al-Adl is usually translated as “justice,” but it has a much deeper meaning. It means:

To place everything exactly where it belongs.

Now let’s understand this with an examples.

Example no.1

You have seen the colors of a rainbow . If the red color moved from the top to the bottom,

 what would happen?

You might say nothing special would happen — just a new style of rainbow would form.

But that is not true.

If red comes down near green, then by mixing with green, it will create a muddy olive-brown color.

Why?

Because in a rainbow, colors are formed through a proper transition, and there is no visible barrier between them. When red and yellow meet, we see a beautiful orange between them.

In this way, the whole order gets disturbed just because one color goes to the wrong place.

Example no.2

If you want to go and live in a jungle while you are used to urban life, what will you do?

You will pack your bags and go there, right?

What will happen there?

Suddenly, you will face change and shock. You may adjust for a few days, but to restore your supplies, you will have to come back.

Why?

Because you did not understand the circumstances. A human spends more in difficult situations and quickly becomes weak or sick.

But what Allah does is different.

He puts you in situations while you are still in your own place — like you are in your city, but you lose your job. You struggle to survive, trying everything, but nothing works.

Then slowly, you start from zero and build yourself again.

Then you become a different person from inside.

Why?

Because you have already experienced hardship. Then if you go to the jungle, you will survive longer.

 This is the wisdom of Al-‘Adl.

If you want to become green, you cannot skip the two colors in between.

Allah will change you step by step — first orange, then yellow, then green.

 This is how the system of Al-‘Adl works.

There are no shortcuts.

If you ask why?

Then look at the order in Asma ul Husna from 28 to 30:

Al-Hakam (The Judge)

Al-Adl (The Just)

Al-Latif (The Subtle One)

If we focus on this pattern, we understand:

He is the Judge who makes the decision — all evidence is already present.

Then how does He decide?

He is Al-Adl, so He places everything exactly where it belongs.

And how does He do this?

Because He is Al-Latif — He sees even the smallest details before making a decision.

This gives us happiness that no good deed will be wasted, but also fear that no hidden sin should put us into difficulty.

But before all of this:

Ar-Rahman

Ar-Rahim

Now let’s look at practical examples of how Al-Adl shows itself in this world.

Example no.1

The Wallace Line is an invisible boundary in Indonesia that separates two completely different types of wildlife.

On one side, there are animals like monkeys, tigers, and elephants.

On the other side, there are kangaroos, wallabies, and cockatoos.

This happens because of a deep underwater trench that animals cannot cross. Even during ice ages, this barrier remained.

The Halocline

When two oceans meet, their waters do not mix immediately.

Because their salt levels, temperatures, and densities are different, a boundary is formed.

This boundary prevents instant mixing, and you can see a visible line where two waters meet before they slowly blend.

“Why is this considered one of the scientific miracles? Because despite the vast size of the seas and the countless years that have passed, there is still a power preventing them from fully mixing.”

Surah Ar-Rahman (55:19–20)

Arabic:

مَرَجَ الْبَحْرَيْنِ يَلْتَقِيٰنِ ۝ بَيْنَهُمَا بَرْزَخٌ لَّا يَبْغِيٰنِ

“He released the two seas, meeting together. Between them is a barrier; neither of them transgresses.”

Now the real meaning:

If the red color in the rainbow tries to go near green, it shows an invisible barrier — just like the Wallace Line. No one can pass that boundary 

— and that is why everything stays happy in its own place.

And in the second example, a person moving from city life to jungle life matches the halocline — because there is a chance to evolve.

This is the wisdom of Al-Adl.

What is Divine Love?

When we talk about divine love, everyone describes it from a different perspective.
Some call it a fire, others call it an ocean. Some say it is the path of sacrifice.
Whatever the answer may be, one thing seems constant: pain and even death are always part of it.

So what is it about divine love that, despite so much difficulty and suffering, people are still drawn toward it?

Let’s understand this through a famous spiritual concept—and then look at it scientifically as well.

The Concept: The Moth and the Light

A moth follows the light and keeps returning to it again and again—until it dies.

The Poetic & Literary Aspect

In Urdu and Persian literature, the moth (Parwana) and the candle (Shama) are powerful symbols of selfless love and sacrifice.

• Symbol of the Lover:
  The moth represents a true lover who is willing to burn itself to ashes for the sake of the beloved (the light).

Many poets have expressed this idea in their own way:

• Allama Iqbal: Saw the moth as a passionate seeker whose ultimate desire is to burn in the light.
• Mirza Ghalib: Believed the moth’s sacrifice has purpose—no one dies without a deeper spiritual meaning.
• Bahadur Shah Zafar: Portrayed the moth as a faithful lover who will find the beloved wherever it exists.
• Mir Taqi Mir: Focused on the silent suffering and dignity in the moth’s final annihilation.
• Jigar Moradabadi: Viewed the moth as a devotee whose entire life is justified by a single moment of sacrifice.
• Amir Meenai: Highlighted the tragedy of the moth’s unwavering desire versus the candle’s indifference.
• Mirza Sauda: Considered the moth’s ashes sacred—symbolizing a heart purified by fire.

Even Western writers reflected on this idea:

• Virginia Woolf: Saw the moth as a “bead of pure life,” showing the fragile yet intense energy of existence.
• Robert Frost: Used a dead moth to question whether darkness has its own hidden design.
• Percy Bysshe Shelley: Spoke of “the desire of the moth for the star,” symbolizing longing for the divine.
• Don Marquis: Suggested that the moth chooses to “burn with beauty” rather than live a dull life.
• Emily Dickinson: Found deep meaning in the moth’s delicate and fleeting existence.
• Tennessee Williams: Used the moth as a symbol of sensitivity unable to bear the harsh light of reality.

The Scientific Reason

• Transverse Orientation:
  Moths use distant light sources like the moon as a compass, maintaining a fixed angle to fly straight.

• Optical Confusion:
  When the light source is nearby (like a bulb), the angle constantly changes, causing the moth to spiral inward.

• The Trap:
  Because artificial light is too close, the moth’s navigation system fails—leading it to circle endlessly or crash into the light.

So scientifically, the moth is not in love—it is simply trapped in a survival mechanism it cannot understand.

Then Why Do Humans Do It?

Why do humans willingly choose a path of truth that is full of difficulty?

What’s the “pull”?

When a person truly realizes what darkness is—and how it slowly consumes the inner light—it creates a powerful storm within.

A storm so intense that a person no longer behaves like an ordinary human.
He becomes like the moth.

He accepts the struggle.

He moves toward the light again and again.

Eventually, the “grey areas” of life become unbearable to him.
Those shadows remind him of the darkness he once carried within himself.

So he keeps returning—again and again—not to die, but to purify himself.

The Reality of Divine Love

This continuous struggle is the true essence of divine love.

It does not demand perfection.
It demands consistency.

This constant movement creates an inner heat—
and that heat becomes the source of light within.

Because the one who has once tasted the joy of closeness to the Beloved—how can they ever go far away again, even if it means they must burn for it?

The moth dies in the light…

In Sufi poetry, we often hear that the color of divine love is white.

But what is white? Only the one who has truly experienced love can fully understand it.

Still, we try to understand this through the Qur'an and science.

 What Does the Qur’an Say About 

“Allah’s Color”?

Allah says:

— Surah Al-Baqarah 2:138

صِبْغَةَ اللَّهِ وَمَنْ أَحْسَنُ مِنَ اللَّهِ صِبْغَةً

“(We are) the color of Allah, and who is better than Allah in coloring?”

This raises a deep question:

 What is the color of Allah?

  Allah Introduces Himself as Light

Allah says:

— Surah An-Nur 24:35

اللَّهُ نُورُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ

“Allah is the Light of the heavens and the earth”

So now the question becomes:

What is light?

 Understanding Light (Science Perspective)

At night, stars appear in different colors (white, yellow, bluish, reddish)

In the day, the sun shines strongly

Because of this light, we can see all colors

Light reveals colors—it contains them

 Rain, Purity & the Rainbow

After rain, we see a rainbow (7 colors).

Science says:

Air becomes clean

Water droplets remain in air

Light splits into colors

Reflection:

Rain removes dust

Air becomes pure

Light shows its true nature

 This shows a process of purification

Human Creation from Clay 

The Qur’an tells us humans are created from (clay).

Mix 7 colors in form of bigment → brown / dark brown = Clay color 

Why do seven colors combine into a muddy color? The explanation will come later in this reflection.

But Yes, white paint exists.
Its source is also nature, like titanium dioxide (TiO₂) which is used most commonly today.
If it is not directly available, it is taken from things like sand or rocks and then processed in factories. After that it is turned into paint.
So basically, its origin is still nature, but we convert it into usable form through processing. 

Now let’s come to how white light is formed:

Basic idea:

Isaac Newton used a prism to split sunlight into a spectrum of colors. Then he performed a reverse experiment by passing those separated colors through another prism (or a lens system) in the opposite direction, which combined them back into a single beam of white light. This showed that white light can be reconstructed from all the colors of the spectrum.

Modern engineering has made this concept even more advanced.

 Black as Absorption 

Black Absorbs all colors

Hides their existence

That’s why you never see light as black.
Black means the absence of light, and if there is any color, black will make it dim.

For Example 

A Cloth is yellow

Black color falls on it → it becomes black

Yellow disappears

 Can yellow come back by adding more yellow?

❌ No

What is required?

Remove black through bleaching

Then apply yellow again

⚠️ Risk:

Too much bleach can damage fabric

Requires careful treatment 

Because Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said.

Arabic:
عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رضي الله عنه قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ:
«إِنَّ الْعَبْدَ إِذَا أَخْطَأَ خَطِيئَةً نُكِتَتْ فِي قَلْبِهِ نُكْتَةٌ سَوْدَاءُ، فَإِذَا نَزَعَ وَاسْتَغْفَرَ وَتَابَ صُقِلَ قَلْبُهُ، وَإِنْ عَادَ زِيدَ فِيهَا حَتَّى تَعْلُوَ قَلْبَهُ…»

“When a servant commits a sin, a black spot appears on his heart. If he stops, seeks forgiveness, and repents, his heart is cleansed. But if he returns (to sin), it increases until it covers his heart…”

Sin = black dot

Repeated sin = spreading darkness

Eventually it can cover the heart completely

But through Taqwa, the original purity can be restored. 

but this purification is a careful process, otherwise you’ll end up tearing the fabric

 Role of White (Purity & Protection)

White:

Reflects light

Does not hide colors

Allows all colors to exist

 Spiritually:

White protects purity

Keeps your original nature safe

Does not suppress uniqueness

Like a rainbow:

Colors appear when environment is pure 

When Allah’s mercy (rain) is present

 Human Reality (Body & Noor)

Human body = clay (earthly form)

Inner reality = light (divine essence)

The body is like a garment

To protect light inside you and hides it 

Why?

A human is a physical being, so each person carries a different light within. Allah never wants it to turn black—it is about acceptance, so that the light within you can meet and support others, forming a perfect rainbow. Then, together, all of us become a pure white light And that's the color of Allah.
